Meeting of SAC, 2016

Meeting of Scientific Advisory Committee was held on 11.03.2016 at KVK conference hall under the chairmanship of Dr. G.S Tiwari, Director Extension Education, Directorate of Extension Education, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur. Dr.R.P. Meena, Senior Scientist and Head KVK, Rajsamand presented progress report of KVK for year 2015-16 and Action Plan for the year 2016-17. Dr.G.S.Tiwari appreciated the work done and zeal of KVK scientists working for the farming community in adverse situations. Representatives of all Line departments and progressive farmers and farm women attended the meeting.

RAWE Programme

KVK, Rajsamand is entertain17 students of B.Sc.(Ag) Hons IV yr of Rajasthan College of Agriculture, MPUAT, Udaipur. They are attached to KVK for six weeks under village attachment training viz Rural Agricultural Work Experience programme.

Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojana

A farmer scientist interaction was organized at K.V.K., Rajsamand under PMFBY on 01-04-2016. In this programme 632 farmers and farm women participated from all blocks of the district. An exhibition was displayed on PFBY scheme and farmer’s scientist interaction was also organized. Following dignitaries attended the programme- Sh. Hari Om Singh Rathore, Hon’ble M.P. Rajsamand, Dr.U.S. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, MPUAT, Udaipur, Sh. Nand Lal Singhvi, Ex. Jila Pramukh, Rajsamand , Dr. G.S. Tiwari, Director Extension, MPUAT, Udaipur and representatives of all line departments of the district.

World Soil Health Day

International soil Health Day was celebrated at K V K Rajsamand for importance of Soil testing .In this programme following diginatiries were present- Sh. Hari Om Singh Rathore, MP, Rajsamand , Sh. Pervesh Salvi, Ziza Pramukh, Rajsamand ,Smt. Reena Kumawat, Pradhan, Rajsamand, Sh.. Nand Lal Singhvi, Former, Zila Pramukh, Rajsamand and Officer of line Department. 500 Soils Health Cards issued to farmers On the occasion of Soil Health Day a “Rabi Kisan Gosthi” also organised and delivered the lecture on the following topic by the scientists and officers of KVK and other agencies on Importance of Soil Health in respect of crop production and its sustainability, Rabi crop production technology, Management of horticulture crops like orchards, vegetables etc, Fodder production for higher milk production and benefit, Animal management technology practices and Different schemes of Agriculture conduct by ATMA Project.

Establishing Nutrition Gardens for Nutrition Security

Growing of seasonal fruits and vegetables in the nutrition gardens has been considered as a means of growing and consuming organically produced balanced fruits and vegetables for diversifying our diet and reducing the incidence of micronutrient deficiencies. Hence, with this aim 50 rural farm families have been given kharif vegetable minikits for establishing nutrition gardens in Hon’ble MP adopted village Tasol. The minikit comprises seeds of bottle gourd, bitter gourd, spinach, coriander, amaranthus, lady finger and seedlings of tomato, brinjal and chilli.

Parthenium Awareness Week

Parthenium Awareness Week from 16 - 22 August, 2016 was organized by KVK,Rajsamand.

The Parthenium Awareness Week started with “Shramdan” by staff and RAWE students at KVK campus by Parthenium uprooting to make campus Parthenium free. The program proceeded with awareness spreading among the students and communities on menace of Parthenium on human health, animal health, deteriorating environment, loss of productivity and biodiversity. For the awareness, Two Kissan gosthi was organized at MP adopted Village Tasol and Gariavas . Around 175 farmers and Farmwomen participated and uprooted Parthenium.
