District Profile
The district comprises of seven blocks viz Rajsamand, Bhim, Relmagra, Deogarh, Amet, Kumbhalgarh and Nathdwara with net cultivated area of 109871 hectare and irrigated area of 29730 hectare. The important crops of the district during kharif are maize, sorghum, cotton, Greengram,Blackgram ,Clusterbean, sesame, brinjal, chilies, okra and cucurbits while in rabi wheat, barley, gram, mustard, cabbage, onion, and garlic. The important fruit crops of the district are custard apple, aonla and guava and presently pomegranate is also introducing in the area. The land holding of farmer except Relmagra and Nathdwara block falls under marginal and small. The average rainfall pattern of the district is approximately 512.7 mm but since last five years rainfall is unevenly distributed . The maximum temperature during summer reached to 480 C and minimum fall down up to 00 C. in winter season.

Revenue Units
Seven Tehsils namely Rajsamand, Relmagara, Amet, Deogarh, Bhim, Kumbalgarh and Nathdwara. 1004 revenue villages in the district.
Land Use Pattern
Total geographical area – 4.55 lack hectare, barren land – 1.17 lakh hectare, 1.28 lakh culturable waste land and under forest 24663 hectare, pasture and grazing land 57729 hectare, net area sown is only 98598 hectare (1800 ha under horticulture crops).
Land Holding
About three fourth of total holding falls in category of marginal and small. Marginal (< 1> 10 ha, 1.33 %). The total land holding of the district is 133537 hectare.
Demography and Work Force
Total population – 9.87 lakh (Rural, 8.58 lakh, 86.93 %, and urban 1.29 lakh, 13.07 %). ST population – 1.29 (13.09 %) and SC (1.23, 12.46 %). Decadal growth rate of the district is 19.88 per cent. Literacy – 55.65 %, male literacy – 74.00 % and female literacy is 37.60 %.
Of the total workers of 4.02 lakh, 68.70 are main workers and 31.30 are marginal workers. 40.90 per cent are cultivators working own land and 13.40 per cent are landless workers. About 42.00 per cent are non- agriculture workers in the district. About 3.40 per cent workers in household industry.
Live Stock and Poultry Status
Total live stock in the district is 10.83 lakh , goat- 4.99 lakh, cattle – 2.51 lakh, buffalow – 2.00 lakh and sheep – 1.20 lakh are major live stock in the district. Poultry population in the district is 30780. Average cow milk yield is only 1.92 litre per day and buffalow – 3.40 litre per day.
Irrigated and Sources of Irrigation
Irrigated area of the district is 30971 ha contributed 31.40. per cent of the total cultivated area. The major sources of irrigation are open wells. Number of wells are 58818 in the district (80.93 %). Tanks contribute to the 11.71 per cent irrigation in the number of 294 in the district. Canals contribute 4.18 per cent irrigation in the district. Tube well irrigate 3.15 per area in the number of 657 in the district.
Marketing System
There is one regulated market in the district is Rajsamand Krishi Upaj Mandi and one district vegetables mandi in the district.
Existing Agro Processing Facilities
There is no big industries in the district.
